Research in a wide range of transportation issues has a long history at the University of Birmingham and this continues today in a variety of areas. In particular work is currently underway in a number of departments within the Engineering School, and within the Schools of Computer Science; Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, the Institute of Local Government Studies and Centre for Urban and Regional Studies.
